The Midpoint
My wife, this is no small thing we have done.
Steel has glanced upon stone, and a spark has caught.
I am the raincloud. You are the earth.
This child is the beginning of what must come next.

Better tie up those 2nd Act plot points pretty darn quick! I understand everything will come to a head in the final climactic battle.
EXCITING.
That's a great poem. I have to chuckle to myself because despite all your research and observations of other families...you two have NO idea what you're in for. No one ever really does :)
Nah, kids are simple. You put stuff in one end, it separates into two forms and leaves unpleasantly. And sometimes the initial input comes back at you. Rinse and repeat.
And then a couple years later, you only have to give them input and let them deal with the unpleasantness.
And then a decade later they provide their own input.
And then all you do is have to deal with their run-ins with the law and the disposal of bodies.
I'm thinking Thomas doesn't actually have any kids?
I'm sure my genetic material is ambling around somewhere.
